Bonnie Bolton
Bolton, Bonnie Charlene (Mowrey) Bonnie Mowrey Bolton of Minneapolis passed away unexpectedly on June 30 after a long and fully lived life. She was an STPC member since 2015. Predeceased by parents Paul and Virginia Mowrey, sister, Paulette, and nephew, Michael. She is survived by two sons and their wives: Kittredge Bolton (Marie) and Benjamin Bolton-Crain (Lindsey). Also survived by five grandchildren: Riley Virginia, Ean Cashman, Colin Crain Bolton; and Fletcher Austin and Bowen Echo Crain. Bonnie was born in Omaha in 1941. She graduated from St. Louis Park High School, where her yearbook states: she was known for her “spontaneous sense of humor.” She then attended the University of Minnesota to study art. She was a successful free-lance artist before becoming Art Director of Target stores followed by becoming Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for Montgomery Wards, Shopko, and Venture Stores. After retiring from a successful career, she enjoyed working part-time at Bibelot in Linden Hills. Not only an artist, she enjoyed playing her baby grand piano, was an expert seamstress as well as an avid tennis player. She was instrumental in organizing and coordinating schedules for the Senior Tennis Players Club. She was an active Linden Hills community member and volunteered for the Linden Hills Neighborhood Council and the Condos at Lake Harriet. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and many pets. She is loved by her children and grandchildren and she will be missed by both family and friends. A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date.
